Karen Hunt

Karen was born in Portsmouth in 1963. She left school with Art A level but did not pursue an art career until only 15 years ago. She started with watercolours and migrating to acrylic abstract landscapes and more recently wildlife art in graphite pencil. Karen is a member of the Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society and the Society of Feline Artists. The annual exhibition of the Society of Feline Artists is held in London at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery and in 2008 she was presented with the Llewellyn Alexander Award. Artists that have influenced Karen over the years include Vincent Van Gogh and the wildlife artist David Dancey Wood. However, she feels the biggest influences have been numerous visits to art galleries and twice yearly visits to Earnley Concourse. Karen currently lives on Hayling Island
