Carolyn Gilsenan

Carolyn studied Graphics and Illustration at Wimbledon School of Art before working in design and publishing for many years in and around London. She moved to the Lake District where the stunning views of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland peninsulas inspired a series of monoprints. Carolyn found printmaking an exciting and effective way to capture the moody, unique wilderness of the Lakes. In 2006 she moved to Southsea, Hamsphire and was delighted to find the same print making processes worked equally well with the softer, gentler landscapes of the South Downs and the flat marshy seascapes of Hamsphire. Carolyn also enjoys working in oils and more recently has explored 3 dimensional work – sculpture based mainly on the human figure.
